What I did remember to take to my son's birthday party. Grandma's china, the sour cream potato dish and little spoon, Twilight - so daughter in law could start reading the series again, the babies stuff they left here Sunday night, and the salad I was taking to dinner. It was raining cats and dogs, so maybe the rain washed the brain cells responsible for taking the gift. The funny part was I could not figue out why he didn't open his present when he came home from work, then it dawned on me. Oops!

Today I have a beautiful helper who, thanks to her, the house is clean for Papa Bear. She does not hire out, and she does not work for peanuts, just treats. Yeah TREATS! She won the contests! We are headed for the errands now.......t t f n

Living Alone this week

Living alone sucks!
Papa Bear is off to a business conference this week. Since all the kids have their own lives, some live far away, some have sick kids, and some are just busy, it has been a very quiet week. Some of the things I learned from this week are:

I can't sleep without the occasional background snoring
Who is the real slob in our family,
Who uses the most dirty clothes will be determined after his suitcase is unloaded. (Maybe the loser of that contest should do the laundry-ha).
Who I do like to cook for,
How dirty the kitchen cupboards really were (notice past tense here)
Finding old dishes that possibly are of real value....we will see...
It's fun to take your granddaughter to kindergarten when her brothers have the flu
It's tempting to spend a fortune at a quilt show
It's embarassing to go to your son's birthday party and forget his gift. (So I went to the party twice, nothing wrong with that)
You can eat tapioca pudding for two days.
Can't wait for the arrival of a certain jet tomorrow night, one thing I have no answer to is...
How do people who lose their spouse survive the quiet?
